Hillsborough Vocal Academy is located in the Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina.
VOICE LESSONS
Ms Kusumi teaches students 12 years old and up, amateur and professional levels, from her private voice studio in Hillsborough, NC. She brings 36 years of practicing a bel canto approach to singing technique and has studied with many of the great masters of classical singing including Carol Webber, Benita Valente, and Marni Nixon, as well as other great influences from Dalton Baldwin, Martin Issep, Ken Noda, and Thomas Bagwell. In addition to her classical approach to voice technique, she adds her own unique holistic approach to teaching thru her inclusion of yoga, meditation, and energy work to develop a singer equipped to thrive amidst the challenges of performing. Many of Ms. Kusumi's students have gone on to win international competitions and perform at theaters around the world. You can take lessons in these durations either in person or online (virtual).

Ms. Kusumi offers coachings in Italian, German, French, Latin, and English Diction. She has studied all of the languages and their lyric diction for multiple years. She speaks fluent German and English and is conversational in French and Italian. She has taught Lyric Diction at the university level.
